  1. The European Cycling Challenge 2014 – ECC2014 will take place from 1 to 31 May 2014.
  2. It will be possible to join the Challenge until 31st May.
  3. Join your City Team (click here for instructions) and throughout the month of May track your journeys made by bike with the Endomondo free App – see points 6, 7 and 8 for the description of valid journeys. If you don’t have a smartphone you can manually insert your journeys (click here for instructions).
  4. If you join to ECC2014 after May the 1st, you can insert the journeys made ​​in the previous days (see here for instructions on how to insert the previous movements).
  5. All kinds of bicycle are allowed – owned or rented, bike-sharing, electric bicycles, cargo bike, etc … – in accordance with points 6, 7 and 8.
  6. All journeys made by bicycle are accepted if the bicycle is used as alternative to another vehicle (car, motorcycle, etc …). For example, journeys to and from workplace or school, to  shopping, to visit friends, to go to the cinema or to the swimming pool.
  7. Sport activities are not accepted (in this case don’t track that movement or chose a different kind of sport in Endomondo App – click here for instructions)
  8. It is possible to join a City team even if you don’t live in that City: if you reach that City as describe in point 9, you are allowed to join the City team.
  9. All journeys made even partially within your City Team borders are accepted. Journeys that start, end or cross your City Team borders are valid. See the following scheme as an example.                            percorsi_ammessi
  10. Bike+train journeys are valid with regards to the stretches made by bicycle, even if not included within the City Team border.
  11. Journeys longer than 25 km and/or with an average speed higher than 25 km/h have to be commented, explaining why the journey is valid (eg: “Today I decided to go to work by bicycle, and the distance from my house to my workplace is 30 km”, “I ​​cycled for many km along a road with no traffic lights so I could keep a high average speed”).
  12. PRIVACY SETTINGS: on your Endomondo profile you can set different levels of privacy. Who does not want to make journeys visible (public) must at least be “friend” of the Team Coordinator and make journeys visible to friends, to allow the Team Coordinator to carry out random checks on the correctness of tracked journeys.
